Exclusive Entrevista: Aventura Gets Close And Personal

Aventura was in the building sharing their tempting vibes for "Entertainment as a Second Language."

Trust us, our ears are still ringing from countless of screaming fans who were lucky enough to catch Aventura perform their latest chart-topping single, "All Up To You." Blogamole got a chance to sit down and chat exclusively with los bachateros about their mind-blowing success and craziest fan run-in during their in-store signing tour for their latest hit album, "The Last." You don't want to miss the embarrassing moment they told us about!

How do you feel about being at the number one spot for "The Last"? Did you guys even expect it to blow up the way it has?

Henry: No, everything is so unexpected. I mean we were hoping for a positive outcome, but now we are breaking records left and right!

Anthony: What is happening right now has taken all of us by surprise. We try to be humble about it. This is the first time we have reached number one and it's really something that tells us that people are diggin' this album. We don't run on gimmicks or anything like that. This is just fans supporting us and going to the stores to buy our album. It's just so satisfying.

Do you think your collaborations with mainstream artists like Akon and Wyclef Jean have also added to the success?

Anthony: Absolutely. That's exactly why we collaborated with these artists because we want to show people that we are diverse. We don't want to be put in a box as only bachateros. It's important to start showing that we can hit other markets.

Henry: We were really thinking positive with "All Up To You." We wanted to reach a new crowd or maybe people that normally don't really like bachata. And we accomplished to have them listen to a new sound.

What is a crazy fan moment you guys had during the in-store signings earlier this month?

Henry & Anthony: [Laughs]

Come on you have to have some!

Henry: We have so many it's crazy. We have very loyal fans. Even ones that follow us from state to state. There was this group we spotted in New York and then a couple of days later we saw them in Miami too. Everywhere we go they follow us! So we feel very grateful for that.

Anthony: It's funny. You never get tired of the fans coming up to you screaming and crying. There was this girl that seemed normal, not that she is not, but she came forward to me very calm and then as soon as I went to shake her hand she just started screaming. I mean to the point where it looked like she was going to have a seizure. It's emotional you know.

Especially since your fan base has grown so much...

Anthony: Yeah you know. Now you even see guys at our shows. Before they were in the closet like 'no we don't listen to that music!'
