Who doesn't want a taste of Don Omar behind-the-scenes on the set of Entertainment as a Second Language with Carlos Santos?

Forget jumping the velvet rope, we were in the V.I.P. lounge for The King of Kings' first on-air performance of his latest single, "Virtual Diva" for the premiere of Entertainment as a Second Language with Carlos Santos. The barrio diva has been around the cuadra since concrete pavement was created, but Facebook and MySpace have given birth to a new breed of diva-ness. Don Omar's latest single of off his upcoming album, "I-Don," is officially the club jam of 2009, and we got a chance to chat exclusively with the reggaetonero about la música and playing la lotería. Check it all after the jump!
What inspired the virtual concept of your upcoming album, "I-Don"?
The concept is completely technological. It is a creative experiment to transform into mitad hombre y mitad máquina. I had the opportunity to write the guión. The entire obra from the first melody to the last was written by me. I want to give my fans the chance to see me as accessible as a click of a button. Yo quería poner mi granito de arena into the virtual world.
How does your personal life shape your music?
The whole idea of the bionic man also mirrors my own process in life. There came a point in my life where if I didn't act quickly [on my dreams], my career wouldn't be where it is now. I went through that transformation and today I am able to include it all in my music.
A random question for the fans. Did you ever play the lotto before being famous?
Claro! I still play...you never know. [Laughs]
Really? The jackpot is $140 million right now.
If I were to win $140 million, I think I would work even harder than I am right now. Lo más dinero que tienes lo más trabajo que tienes. I would take a long vacation. For at least a year.
Where would you go?
Wow...I think I would escape to an island. Just to be alone and have a serene night with my own thoughts. Even a super playa where I can just chill in the sun until I am completely burned. Endless margaritas and I will have a great time.
Que rico! Think that sounds like paradise? Be sure to check out the premiere of Entertainment as a Second Language with Carlos Santos today at 9PM on MTV Tr3s. Don't forget to leave your love for Don Omar aquí!
