Nortec Collective is sharing the Tijuana vibe with the rest of el mundo...

One electro-norteño song at a time. The Grammy-nominated group didn't snag the award for “Best Latin Rock Or Alternative Album,” but they continue to dominate the underground scene con fuerza. Main members, Pepe Mogt and Ramon Amezcua launched their Mexican national tour in February, and are planning on also hitting-up the U.S. and Canada.
We recently caught-up with the lead singer, Pepe to here all about their live performances:
Our live shows are all about improvisation. All of the songs sound different from the album. The musician still has to follow the structure and the bass of the original, but it gives you more freedom with the song. The audience can actually see the sound waves change because we use this instrument called Tenori-on.
It's a visual experience because we also shows pics of Tijuana. For people that have never been there, it provides a sense of what the city is all about.
Agreed. This gives Coldplay's "Life in technicolor" a whole different meaning. Check out Nortec Collective's tour dates and let us know if you are feeling their sound.
