Stash your GPS away and get lost in Marcy Place...

Don Omar is the driving force to the new musical destination made-up of band members, Juan Carlos Cabrera (a.k.a. JC), and hermanos Billy and Joel Pabón. The freshmen bachateros ignited their all-star career with their 2008 debut album, "B From Marcy Place" and are prepared to step into the front row with their latest track, "Todo Lo Que Soy." We exclusively sat down with J.C. and Joel to hear all about their new video and how they plan on stealing the spotlight right below the hood!
How is it working with "The King of Kings" in the studio?
Joey: It was a very surprising experience to just walk-up in the studio and see Don Omar. It was a good creative feeling. I have to give it to him, he is a very talented person as an artist. He is a wonderful manager and a great friend also. He is very confident in what he does, and we are glad to have him on our side.
What kind of advice has he shared with you guys?
J.C.: He always gives us advice about how to carry ourselves in the public eye and how to maintain a positive image as an artist. We have learned more from him than any other artist. He is making it happen and supporting us a lot.
Joey: Of course, he also lets us do our thing and he appreciates what we bring to the table. For a new group like us to start out without his help would have made things a lot harder.
How does your album, "B From Marcy Place" step-up to your other contenders (a.k.a. Aventura)?
J.C.: From the beginning it has always been about what we do best. We focus on not sounding the same. For example, not using the same guitar strings or the same arrangements like Aventura or any other group. We all listen to different types of music [not just bachata and R&B] so it made it easier for us I think. Aventura is definitely the leader with that type of sound, but they have their own particular style and we have our own.
Describe your new single, "Todo Lo Que Soy." What kind of flavor does it spin together?
Joey: It is danceable bachata, but yet romantic at the same time. I think God made J.C. write "Todo Lo Que Soy." [Laughs]
J.C.: It is all about the words and the melodies. People can relate to the song and of course it does have a romantic feel to it.
