Fat Joe would probably pass, but Daddy Yankee is feeding off of all the political publicity by preparing to launch his own fragrance line in November.

The "Talento de Barrio" star has been known for his Reebok clothing and sneaker endorsement, but now the conservative entrepreneur wants to create an "Impacto" in the fragrance industry.

He states:

Contento con todo lo que está pasando, tengo el gel del pelo que ha sido un boom en Suramérica y en Puerto Rico, ahora vamos a empezar la distribución en los Estados Unidos y la fragancia de Daddy Yankee en noviembre.

It's almost that time of year again! When all your favorite Latino actors get together on one stage to celebrate their dominance in entertainment at the 2008 Alma Awards.

Hosted by none other than Eva Longoria, this year's nominees include: Selena Gomez, George Lopez, Carlos Mencia, Dania Ramirez, and Roselyn Sanchez just to name a few. Things should get quite interesting as movies like Bella, El Cantante, Illegal Tender, Love in the Time of Cholera and Tortilla Heaven all duke it out for the Outstanding Performance of a Lead Latino /a Cast in a Motion Picture Award.

There is no denying that Ninel Conde has had some help from Dr. 90210, but the Fuego en la sangre actress has been attacked by allegations claiming that she had recent enhancements done.

The chisme was sparked after the sexy Mexicana was hospitalized and out on commission for a couple of telenovela shoots. Several reports suggested that Ninel was getting a little nip-and-tuck action, but the natural belleza states that she was actually suffering from a painful hernia:

Ya están empezando con sus tonterías, es una falta de respeto, he estado muy débil, incluso me pusieron sangre porque estuve muy delicada por no cuidarme, esto viene de tiempo atrás por el estrés que he estado manejando y se me complicó con una hernia que tenía.

The captivating ad campaign for the non-profit Declare Yourself features La Alba strapped across her mouth and chest with black tape. Despite the bad rap (no pun intended) hip hop gets; you can always count on Russell Simmons to use it as a force for positive social change. The entrepreneur, who is very politically active in this election season (he made it abundantly clear at the VMAs with his pro-Obama statements), never shies away from speaking on the issues.

In between his VMA cameo, and a recent showing at NYC Fashion Week for his collection Argyleculture, the multitasking mogul held a press conference to introduce "Get Your House Right," a program intended to alleviate the mortgage crisis, in particular for minorities. The movement stems from Russell's pro-social Hip-Hop Summit Action Network and relates to his “Get Your Money Right” initiative, where artists and experts unite to educate youth on financial literacy.

The Center for Responsible Lending reports that home foreclosures soared nationally by 75 percent in 2007 and the trend is continuing today. If this keeps up it is projected that Latinos alone will stand to lose $98 billion. With some help from hip hop, mortgage experts and lenders, Russell hopes to help the cause. Say what?! Kanye West was arrested early this morning and charged with felony vandalism for allegedly getting into a serious fight with a pap.

The "Stronger" emcee caught a paparazzi trying to snag a picture of him while at the American Airlines terminal at LAX airport. Apparently, Kanye wasn't feeling very photogenic after allegedly smashing the guy's camera on the ground. Reports also mention that his assistant got in on the mayhem and supposedly attacked a TMZ pap in the process.

Reports also mention that the "American Boy" screamed, "Gimme that f---ing tape!" right before trying to board his plane. Unfortunately, the popo were right behind him! Kanye and his assistant were both locked-up immediately after the incident.

Damn, another one bites the dust! Do you think Kanye was justified in his actions?

UPDATE: The hip-hop star was released from the Los Angeles Police Department's Pacific Division station at 12:53 p.m. on $20,000 bail.  [Daily News]

Ring the alarm for this chisme alert! Word has it that Don Omar and his wifey Jackie Guerrido may be expecting.

Several of our spies in la isla del encanto confirm that the chismes were sparked after "The Kings of Kings" performed in the town of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Apparently the Univision journalist was sick and rushed to the hospital during the show. She was hooked up to an IV after experiencing dizziness and other like symptoms.

The "Salio el sol" singer is staying in the dark about the rumors, but he did confirm that his wifey has been ill. Sounds a little suspect no crees? Regardless one this is for sure, that lucky baby is destined to be born into straight-up royalty!
