After her unsatisying performance in the box-office bomb "Glitter," Mariah Carey is dusting her shoulders off and attempting to "Push" her way into the silver screen once again...

Turns out Mimi's acting skills go beyond her 2001 flop. The sexy songstress was approached to star in the upcoming movie, "Push" after director Lee Daniels was impressed by her work in the independent film "Tennessee." Mrs. Cannon is set to play a social worker who mentors an overweight and HIV-positive woman in Harlem.

Sounds like a pretty deep role, but will the "I'll Be Lovin' U Long Time" singer master the script? Perhaps her hubby Nick Cannon will lend her a couple of free acting lessons. It can't hurt right?! [The Daily News]
