Robbery Drama Continues to Unfold for Belinda

Word has it that los padres de la cantante Belinda might have had a hand in the recent robbery of her home near Mexico City.

The thought of mom and pop cracking into Belinda's casa is too much to stomach -- wasn't it just last week that her father spoke out, urging authorities to investigate el robo, so that his hija could live safe and sound?  Said Ignacio Peregrín, father to the 18-year-old cantante:

This country is marvelous, and it would be so difficult [for her] to leave it. Belinda has an image to maintain here, and right now it’s important to have faith that people can live securely here.

What kind of parents break & enter on their own daughter? Chismosos say that Belinda's mami and papi may have done it to scare the singer, to force her out of what they felt was un vecino peligroso. Whether they're guilty or not, the fears are not unfounded; the singer received menacing crank calls leading up to el robo.

Belinda hopes to find sus pertenencias perdidas asap, wishing jail time on the robbers if they don't fess up:

Se llevaron muchas cosas, creo que lo más importante son fotos mías, de las últimas navidades con mi abuelito y que un año después falleció, todas mis fotos, relojes, de todo.
