Whether your personal estilo is influenced by the retro glamour of the 80s or the ghetto fab look of the 90s, new school fashion trends are all about remixing el pasado. No where is this more apparent than in el mundo de la música, where style transformations burn out and reform as fast as a new chisme climbs up the grapevine.
In honor of our MTV Tr3s Fashionista special airing August 16th at 2PM, we kicked back and evaluated which old school and new school celebs work their getups the best. Peep our exclusive comentario de la moda below the hood!
Jennifer Lopez and Kat Deluna may both hail from the Boogie Down Bronx, but these fierce cantantes differ in how they define their sophisticated street style. While Dominicana Kat sports ropa inventiva and trends with a youthful spin, La Lopez has earned props as a trend setter and red carpet class-act.
Lo mismo can be said about blazin' duos, Nina Sky and Prima J. All of these ladies are known as fashion risk takers who never shy away from matching their sassy looks with an urban touch.
Mexican rockeras Gloria Trevi and Eiza González (a.k.a. Lola) take their fashion sabor to an edgier extreme. La Trevi may have pioneered the "Pelo Suelto" look with bright ripped leggings and puffy ruffles, but Lola is revamping the pop star's legacy with her own bold swagger.
You have been officially placed in the fashion frontera! Which divas do you think are holding it down the best?
