With comic book geeks foaming at the mouth over Guillermo del Toro’s highly-anticipated sequel “Hellboy 2,” the director decided to intensify its hype by entertaining a Q&A session with film fanáticos after a Superfan Screening in Los Angeles last night.
Couldn't make it to the special screening? Well, we had our industry spies on the scene and we're ready to share all the gusty action contigo.
The innovative filmmaker jumpstarted the evening by revealing his weakness for moderation and his obsession with a raw, uncensored approach to cinematography,
I essentially voice all the monsters in the movie. Every single creature there. I mean I do at least a portion of the vocals, I am Mr. Wink, I am the fairies, I did some of the roaring of the soldiers…Every time we needed a creature I would go upstairs and do it.
Letting his imagination run wild behind-the-cameras is one thing, but Guillermo admits that he's not consumed by the pressures of sticking to the original comic:
Those of you who expect the movie to be more faithful to the comic, there is popcorn outside.
Pick up your rositas de maíz and brace yourselves for the worldwide premiere on July 11th! Can't wait til then? Peep an exclusive clip, then visit Movies on MTV.com for all the Hellboy photos you can handle.
