If you thought you'd never see De La Ghetto and Arcángel back in the same studio, think again. The album "Caribbean Connection" has brought the dominicano and boricua back together for a new song, “Movimiento Reptil."

Since the duo parted ways De La Ghetto has been pursuing his solo career. The transition hasn't been so easy for him since his inspiration and best friend, Tempo, is currently locked up.
Y de ahí en adelante la amistad fue bien grande, y más porque él tuvo mucha fe en mi. Y yo de verdad, para mi, su talento era increíble. Y de verdad, hicimos una amistad bien chévere.

Que lágrimas!  Even reggaetoneros get sentimental from time to time. Look out for De La Ghetto's album, Libertad y Condena, set to drop this summer. [MTV TR3s Radio Noticias]

We've all heard the diva stories about Jennifer Lopez. From her laundry list of beverage, food and housekeeping demands at international hotels to outlandish riders and backstage requests pre-concert, JLo (even the name says La Diva) sure has particular taste.

So she expects stores to shut down when she's shopping...that's not so outrageous right (how else is a gal to find the right size Jimmy Choo stilettos)? Well, it gets better. Now we hear that JLo doesn't just like to shop alone, but can't even bear to be around first-class airline passengers.

Not even the first-class lounge was good enough for her. She kept slipping into a door inside the lounge, so people thought it was like a special VIP area.

So, either Jennifer likes hiding in closets or her attitude got her put on time-out. Que crees? [Lossip]

Ever wonder what that cute, mousy-looking Latina from Diddy Danity Kane has been up to since being absorbed into Diddy's world of prefab bands? We did, so we were stoked to find her hanging out on a July/August cover of la revista Latino Future. What did we find out? Well, Aundrea Fimbres was almost done with an education degree when she decided to drop out and try out for Making the Band Three (we're sure sus padres were thrilled about that switch in plans...stay in school chicos!)

In the article, Aundrea cites Diddy as a motivational tool in shaping Danity Kane's career.

[Diddy's] very much a big brother type and has really helped mold our careers. He's the boss man. It's not so scary anymore, but when he gets mad you sit up a little straighter.

Best not to anger the original Bad Boy. He might just wreck your groove by poppin' up onstage and stealing the show.

Thanks to MTV News and Twilight Tuesdays (those newsies are connected, yo!), we found out how filming is progressing on the Oregon set of Twilight. You're probably still catching your breath after watching the Movie Awards premiere of the first Twilight scene EVER, but here’s another fact that’ll stop your heart… When MTV News visited the Twilight set, they found out one of the scenes in the film wasn’t in the book! Turns out that director Catherine Hardwicke veered off chapter in order to condense the movie and expand on its premise. Though this might drive some libro loyalists mad, it did allow the cast to experiment with new scenes, dialogue and a cool Cullen family crest.

In addition to recently being subpoenaed with ex-novio Diddy for their association with an NYC club shooting, Mamita Lopez is in even MORE trouble with la ley. While La Lopez was busy making eyes at her hubby Marc during his concert in Spain yesterday, papers were being filed against her by a flight attendant who claimed that she was attacked by Jen's dog, Floyd.

Private jet attendant Lisa Wilson wants $5 mil from JLo because she claims she was bitten on the leg by her dog. Of course, this happened right after Jenny bragged about how well-behaved her perrito is. After the attack, Lisa Wilson tried to escape from Cujo, but ended up falling and hurting her back. The saga resulted in Lisa getting back surgery and quitting her job. [Lossip]

It's that time again! After all the drama-filled intensity of last season, and watching and rooting for David Archuleta, now we have to go through it all over again! No matter how many times we swear off that show ("ésta vez it's for good!") they keep finding more ways to reel us back in. Fox has just announced the eight audition cities for the upcoming eighth season of American Idol, and the big news this year is that for the first time ever, one of those cities is outside the contiguous 48 states - San Juan, Puerto Rico! Chanfle! Get ready for some Menudo wannabes. Idol hopefuls can start lining up for their shot at instant fame when auditions begin on July 17th, and the auditions will be hitting up Borinquen on August 2nd.

Any excuse for a trip to el caribe, eh? Oh well, we need some more hot Latin talent to blog about, so go ahead and try out mi gente! [MTV Newsroom]

Guess who's coming to primetime? Yup, Lipstick Jungle is coming back this Fall with a new shade of brown. Sources reveal that Rosie Pérez and Puerto Rican heartthrob Carlos Ponce are coming to NBC’s Lipstick Jungle for multi-episode arcs in the new season, which premieres Sept. 24.

Executive producer Oliver Goldstick confirmed the news and revealed inside details on their roles. Carlos Ponce (who apparently beat out Mario Lopez for the role!) is set to play Rodrigo, a potential love interest for Lindsay Price's character, Victory Ford, while Rosie Pérez will be playing Dalia, Victory's passionate new publicist.

And who can we credit for this diversity inclusion? Goldstick claims his inspiration for the role was none other than Salma Hayek, whom he worked with on Ugly Betty.

To Salma, nothing’s unreachable and no one’s untouchable. That’s what I love about her, that can-do approach to everything, and I thought that was a great character to introduce to the show.

Salma is always taking one for the team. We love diversity on la tele! Besides we miss Rosie! It's been a minute since the days of It Could Happen To You and White Men Can't Jump. This role sounds like it will be good for her, even if it is on the smaller screen. Qué piensas tú? [E! Online]

It's the usual story: we create something and, way after the fact, los gringos "discover" it and take it as their own. First guacamole, and now a quirky lil singer by the name of Julieta Venegas.

The release of the Julieta Venegas: MTV Unplugged album last week has garnered the Grammy-winning mexicana much attention, especially from those north of the border. Rightfully so, as the CD notched a Top-10 chart debut in its first week of release, and its first single "El Presente" is currently the most added song at Latin pop radio stations across the country.

Julieta is definitely the "it" girl these days. Condé Nast's Daily Traveler blog writer John Oseid went so far as to say she's his new obsession (before giving MTV Tr3s a shout-out for our kick-ass Julieta content! Qué padre!). No hay duda that Julieta deserves all the worldwide praise she's getting. Pero, una pregunta: what took so long? She's only been around for diez años now!

If you haven't caught Julieta's MTV Unplugged, shame on you! You can still watch the full show and check out some cool performance pics featuring La Mala Rodríguez and Gustavo Santaolalla here.

Know what's even better? You can catch Julieta live this summer at a city near you thanks to MTV Tr3s En Tour. The tour kicks off in Denver on August 7th, and she will also be showcasing her "Unplugged" live at Central Park in New York City as part of the LAMC festivities on July 12th. And, you guessed it, she's bringing along her entire Unplugged orchestra:

I’ve never toured with a group this big or made such an ambitious tour. I’m terrified by the idea, but it’s also a lot of fun.

We can't wait!

Another Reggaetonero has crossover fever. First it was Don Omar, now el Cangri plans on making a splash on the big-screen with his first cinematic production, Talento de Barrio. Look out for its premiere during the HBO Latin Film Festival July 23rd.

Apparently, art does imitate la vida in this case, as the movie was filmed in Puerto Rico, and is based on Daddy Yankee's real life struggles. Perhaps we'll get to see a softer, more profound side of Mr. Gasolina? Though we sure do think that any side of him will look just as nice, tú sabes? [Lossip]
