We're pretty sure that when it comes to her career, 'Todo Irá Bien' for Argentinean singer Chenoa. This easy going cantante made our jobs tan fácil -- nuestra entrevista exclusiva con ella was as smooth as a Cuban cigar -- not that our mamitas would ever let us try one (wink wink).
Fresh off her latest album, Absurda Cenicienta, Chenoa gives Blogamole the lowdown on everything from woman problems and super high heels to why being single es tan sexy.
How has living in Argentina and Spain influenced your music?
Well it depends, when I write songs I try to write about reality because the feelings are the same…love, work, friendship, whatever. Maybe the rhythm sometimes changes a little bit. In Spain, you can hear more music with flamenco or Spanish raíces. In Argentina, I think music moves around rock and then they put pop rock [in it]. I hear more music like the Beatles for example. I don’t hear flamenco, I like it, but it’s not my país.
What made you decide to do a covers album [Mis Canciones Favoritas] so early in your career?
It’s beautiful. I do a homenaje to the people that made music. I started at ten years old playing music like Latin jazz, Coltrane and Billie Holiday. So it’s [Mis Canciones Favoritas] like my present to the artists that make me [feel good to] play music. And they pay me too (laughs)! [She was kidding guys!]

How does Chenoa last so long in stilettos? We saw her changing into comfortable sandals after she finished her shoot on Mi TRL!
How did you get your start in music?
Sometimes it’s a little bit hard to live only with music so I studied educación infantil. I worked in the morning with children and at night in the casinos to sing with people. You see the very bad faces of music. [When touring in hotels] people sometimes don’t want to hear you, they don’t care about you, they don’t want to pay you or give you water (laughs). Things like that. But now when I arrive, everything is okay (laughs).
Has success changed you?
No, no. I have seven years with a good position in music. I’m happy but there’s no change because I love my experience. If I love and respect my experience then I don't change. Money doesn't change you, money is money. It’s not good if you think [money] is the first thing in your life.
We hear you have a thing for shoes. Tell us what you like to wear.
Well, the shoes are different for Chenoa and María Laura (Chenoa’s real name). When I want to be sports casual I buy sport shoes but when I’m on stage…[Chenoa imitates walking with heels]. When I was 20 years old I started [performing] in casinos and they put me in platforms [for the first time] so when I walked, the dancers told me that I walked like a duck. They laughed but I learned to walk easily.
What books are you currently reading?
I like Agatha Christie. I started to read [Agatha] when I was 11 years old, then I started to read Danielle Steele, Isabel Allende and Stephen King. He’s heavy, phew!

What’s your favorite pastime?
Hmm, I clean my house, me encanta! I don’t know why I do it but I love to clean my house. Tengo mi perrita pero esta con mi madre. I travel a lot, por eso mi perro esta con mi madre (laughs). I stay with my friends and we talk about everything.
About boyfriends?
I love my soledad and I need it. Sometimes you don’t have time [for a boyfriend]. It’s okay, I have my family, my friends, my pet is with my mami (laughs). Everything is okay!
Before you go, tell our readers what you are promoting today.
Vamos a promocionar Absurda Cenicienta y es un bonito regalo que nos traigan. It’s cool to give your work by you. To say ‘Hello this is my work.’ I think it’s more human than someone else giving it.
